Set up and adjustments:
Sail Boats
The fun navigation competition is set up by placing buoys in the water creating a course of gates and turns. All the ships that participate have to perform the exact same course. They all have to perform the same maneuvers. The total amount of actual commands, left-right rudder, rudder amidships, speed adjustments, all stop commands, should be the same and are counted. The ending point is a small floating wooden dock with a empty shell casing standing on it’s end. The pilot must dock, as the last maneuver without knocking over the shell.
A special thanks to Dr. McKinney and Aimee Eng for producing the Nav Course event!
The Navigation Course
PMPBA member Bob McClabe, shows off his Computer controlled Battleship. This baby isn’t run from a joystick, but a laptop. Bob wrote the software, designed the ship, which will repeat any course that is laid in, track a target and plays many sound effects. Well done Bob!
If you knock over the shell, add,10 pts!
